Push Notifications - Troubleshooting
Things To Check
1. Is your app updated?
- Check your app store to see if there is an update available

2. Have you 'allowed' notifications in your device/app settings?
- Open the 'Settings' app on your device
- Go to the Apps menu
- Locate the OWNA app
- Check that the Notification permissions are enabled and not blocked

3. Are you logged in on more than one device with the same details?
- Only the first device signed in will be registered to receive notifications
- Try signing out of both devices and signing back in on the device you want to receive notifications on first
- Ask your centre admin about setting up a unique profile for each family member
4. Is the service using a custom app?
- Ask an admin at the centre if they have a custom-branded app (this will be the name of the centre instead of OWNA)
- If this is the case, notifications will only work when using their specific app
5. Is Do Not Disturb or Focus Mode active on your device?
- Some modes on your device will automatically block all notifications from most apps (unless added as an exception)
- Take your device out of DND mode or Focus Mode

Other Factors
Not all actions generate notifications!
- Actions that generate push notifications include posts/announcements, post interactions, incident reports, parent notes, invoices, etc.
- Actions that DON'T generate push notifications include daily updates (meals, nappy changes, sleep times, etc.), custom forms, documents/policies, etc.
Your user type and permissions can affect what notifications you receive!
- Admins, Staff, and Parents all receive different types of notifications
- As a parent, you will only receive notifications about your child(ren) when you are linked as a primary or secondary carer with Full Access permission
