Split Families/Accounts and Payments (Multiple Children)

Multiple Children - One in each Family Account

Overview

This process can be followed in the event that you have two (or more) children linked to a single Family Account and you need to split them out into multiple Family Accounts. Since each child has existing attendance history (and payments) that we don't want to be replicated in the new accounts, this process essentially ends the current (shared) family account on a certain date and opens up 2 new (separate) accounts.

For split accounts where parents pay different days for the same child(ren), use this guide: Split Families/Accounts and Payments (same child)

Setup

Balance and close the current account

1. Balance the account to $0 (add a transaction to credit or debit back to $0 and make a note of any carryover amount

2. Remove any bonds stored in the account (make a note of the amount for later)

3. Untag all Carers/Guardians and Children

4. Deactivate Account

Create New Family Accounts (one for each carer)

1. Click the + button in the top right corner of the Families/Aaccounts page

2. Enter a new account name (try to distinguish each one from the previous account in some way)

3. Tag one parent and child in each account

4. Enter the Billing Dates and Preferred Debit Day (if using Auto-Billing)

5. Select the Billing Start Date (this should be the same the date you balanced the previous account to)

6. Click Add Family Account

💡 Each family will need to sign a new DDR form from their app

CCS Obligations

If both children are both claiming CCS from the same primary carer, then one of them may need to be changed so that the paying carer for each account is claiming CCS for that child, which they will need to apply for with Centrelink.
