Roster Shift Bidding

Shift bidding allows services to add additional shifts to meet the needs of the service (usually depending on attendance forecasts) without having to specifically assign the shift to a particular educator right away. These are called 'Vacant Shifts' and staff can express their interest to pick up and work these shifts in addition to their already assigned shifts, which is useful if you have a number of casual employees on your books.

Adding Vacant Shifts

💻 Staff > Roster

Add a Vacant Shift like you would any other, but instead of selecting an educator from the Staff selector, pick the Vacant Shift option (at the end of the list).

You will still need to select the shift times the educator is going to work in order to save it in your roster (break times optional).

Sending Vacant Shift Notifications

  1. Hover over the Vacant Shift and select the bell icon to send notifications
  2. Select one or more staff to notify, or pick any combination of staff Types and Qualifications.
  3. Click Notify - (this will be delivered via email to the selected staff or groups)

Bidding for Shifts

📱 Actions Menu > Show Roster

Staff can view the roster in the app to check for days with Vacant shifts, then tap on the shift and confirm they would like to bid for the it.

Accepting and Dismissing Bids

💻 Staff > Roster

Click on the Shift Bids tab in the Rostering screen to accept or dismiss shift bids, or you can manually edit and update the shift in the Build Roster screen to select staff even if they have not submitted a bid.

Accepting or dismissing a shift bid will send an email to the staff to let them know the outcome of their bid.
