Exporting Timesheets for MYOB
Exporting Timesheets
1. Go to Staff > Log/Timesheets
- Get Staff Timesheets for date range and users to be exported
2. Click ‘MYOB Export to CSV’
- The export file will have the following fields for each employee/day worked:
- Employee Co./Last Name*
- Employee First Name
- Payroll Category*
- Job (Placeholder only)
- Notes (Placeholder only)
- Date*
- Units* - Export Hours in Timesheet
- Employee Card ID - Employee Code field in staff profile
- Start/Stop Time (Placeholder only)
* Required field

3. Match the Payroll Categories with MYOB
This step is only required if your MYOB configuration uses categories that are different from the export file. All categories in the export need to match what is configured in MYOB, so it is recommended that you update your categories in MYOB to match the following to make the ongoing exports easier.
Otherwise, the best way to edit the export file is to open it in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. You can use the ‘replace’ function to update the default OWNA codes with your own.
- Base Hourly - regular worked hours
- Annual Leave
- RDO - rostered day off
- TIL - time in lieu
- Personal Leave - personal/sick leave
- Paid Parental Leave
- Leave Without Pay
- Well-Being Day
- Other Leave
Importing Timesheets
1. In MYOB AccountRight, load your Organisation file, then click File > Import/Export Assistant
- Select Import Data, then Click Next

2. Select Import type: Timesheets and upload your export file
- You may need to change the file view from Text files to All files
- Select the file from your computer and click Open
- Click Next

3. Format Settings
- Dats is separated by: Commas
- First line contains: Headers or Labels
- Match Cards using their: Emp.Co/Last Name
- Click Next

4. Auto Match Fields
- Click Auto Match
- Click Next

5. Import & Conclusion
- Confirm you are ready to import the timesheets
- You will receive a report and log to tell you how many records were imported successfully, how many were imported with warnings, and how many records failed (skipped)
- You can view the detailed log to see the reason if any failed
