Introduction

A Medication Record must be created prior to administering any medication to a child (prescribed or non-prescribed).

Medication Records can be added via the App by a Parent/Carer/Guardian or by an Educator (after receivingĀ verbal or written authorisation from the Parent/Carer/Guardian).

Once the record has been created, it can then be administered and completed by the Educator.

How are staff notified?

  1. An email is sent to the Centre
  2. A push notification is sent to all staff in the app
  3. Medication Today is updated on the Dashboard (Admin portal)
  4. The child has a red cross '+'Ā icon next to their name in the Children app menu

Accessing Medication Records

  1. Go to the Children menu
  2. Select the child
  3. Press on the Child Details menu (circle icon with 3 dots)
  4. Select Medication Record

Note:Ā The last/latest medication record is loaded by default

Creating a Medication Record

If a once-off medication record is required, this can be created by an educator in the app by going to the child's Medication Records and clicking on the plus āž• icon to add a new record.

  1. Select the type of authorisation received
  2. Details of Parent/Carer/Guardian contacted
  3. Enter medication details:
    • Name of Medication
    • Dosage to be administered
    • Method
    • Expiry Date
    • Reason
  4. Upload Images (optional)
  5. Add the medication record using the arrowĀ āž”ļø icon in the top right corner - this will trigger a notification to be sent to the parent (and centre staff)

Note: This does not mean the medication has been administered!

Administering Medication Records

Once a Medication Record has been added by the parent or educator, it then needs administered by staff:

  1. Open the latest Medication Record (or go to Medication from the Actions Menu)
  2. Scroll down until you reach 'Add Medication Administered'
  3. Enter the details
  4. The educator administering and a witness must both sign
  5. Enter any details or comments as required
  6. PressĀ the arrow āž”ļø icon in the top right corner to update the record

šŸ’” The name of the staff administering will be the user who is currently logged in to the app!

Mark as Completed

Once the medication record has been administered, you can mark it as Completed from the admin portal.
